<title>Better times for sharks to come soon!</title>
<link>http://bluemarlindiving.com/Article19.html</link>
<description>&quot;Sharks are in trouble worldwide, for these animals to survive, we need to reduce fishing effort by half and have a global ban on shark finning.&quot;
Since the mid-1980s, shark fishing has grown rapidly, driven by a rising demand in China for shark fin soup, a highly prized symbol of wealth.
According to Ransom A.Myers, (Killam Chair of Ocean Studies at Dalhousie University), the Gulf of Thailand has lost 60 percent of its large fin-fish sharks and skates during the first 5 years of industrialized trawl fishing </description>

<title>Details of a Scuba Diving Course</title>
<link>http://bluemarlindiving.com/Article11.html</link>
<description>

      PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Course

      We get asked quite often how a scuba diving course is built up and how long it will take. Usually an Open Water course will take four days, where from you can still spend a lot of time on the beach. It will not take up your whole days. If you are in a hurry though, and you need to move on, the Open Water Course can be done in three days. Just count off some of the beach time. At Blue Marlin Diving Koh Tao, we are not in a hurry. We'd rather give you a good course where you really learn how to dive and where you learn about the responsibilities a scuba diver takes on. Scuba Diving is a &amp;quot;Buddy&amp;quot; Sport. You will never dive alone. Your buddy relays on you as much as you need to relay on his help if you get in a difficult situation. Now for how a PADI Open Water Course is structured and what it involves read more here.

<title>Giant Clam Conservation Project</title>
<link>http://bluemarlindiving.com/Article9.html</link>
<description>For many scuba divers tridacnid clams or Giant Clams belong to the most fascinating creatures in the ocean. Aquarists love to have them in their fish tank and admire their beautiful colors, each of them unique like a finger print. In most tropical countries, Giant Clams are found on the fish market, amongst a wide range of fish and other sea food. Not so in Thailand though! Severe fines and even imprisonment are inflicted for collecting or even just moving Giant Clams in Thai waters.
The Koh Tao Giant Clam Conservation Project, has set a high goal to protect and preserve the clams around Koh Tao in general and Shark Island in particular for future generations. Giant Clams play a vital role as water filters and food resources to all coral reefs around the world. Many of the species believe to have been extinct during the past years, others have reached the eve of extinction. Immediate action is required. Read more about the Giant clams project here
